Steuben Blue Aurene Footed Bowl, Three Blown Feet, Low Profile, Very Nice

Sold

For sale is a wonderful piece of art glass blown by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The item is a hard to find 3 footed low bowl and it is done in Frederick Carder's very desirable Blue Aurene style of art glass. The bowl is a nice size as it stands 3 3/8" tall and is 8 1/4" in diameter.

The bowl is just gorgeous!! It displays a low profile with a rolled top edge. The Blue Aurene iridescence is beautiful. You can see a deep platinum metallic blue iridescence. The inside iridescence displays a deep peacock blue and the underside has strong hints of fuchsia and purples. The bowl sits on three round feet that look like Hersey kisses.

This bowl is considered to be in very good condition as there are no cracks, or chips to the bowl. It has several minor scratches and a few deep short ones around the bowl and is considered typical age wear as this item was used. The bottom of the bowl has a rough pontil. The bowl is signed on the bottom with the engraved "Aurene" cipher mark along with its shape number "2586".

Low bowls were considered somewhat common from the Steuben Glass Company. I have not had one now for several years. The collectors really like this shape and hang on to these beauties. According to the Aurene mark and model number this bowl was made early, circa 1905-1917. This is considered shape number 2586 in Steuben's early catalog pages. Those of you who collect Steuben Blue Aurene and want a nice example do not let this one slip by.
